Claims that the new development for the old mart site in Carmarthen will cause parking chaos are being disputed.
Carmarthenshire County Council claims that the proposed development of the old mart site in Carmarthen will not increase the parking problem in Carmarthen.

Carmarthenshire County Council is planning to convert spaces at Tesco's Friars Park site into a public car park.

Council Leader Meryl Gravell stated that "we will have additional car parking and there will not be any problems during the building of this new development".

The re-development of Tesco's Friars Park site will include 460 car park spaces.

It was not made clear if these are 460 new spaces or if this is only a change in name - from Tesco's Car Park to public car park.
